Storz & Bickel's Mighty+ vs. Venty: Detailed Vaporizer Showdown - Canadian Vaporizers

Venty vs Mighty Plus Comparison: Which Storz & Bickel Is Better?

The Mighty+ and the Venty are two of the most popular dry herb vaporizers from Storz & Bickel, the German company behind the Volcano. They share a lot of DNA, but they're built with different priorities. We used both side by side to compare temperature control, vapor, build, battery, size and cleaning, so you can decide which one fits you best.

Temperature

Both devices run from 104°F to 410°F (40°C to 210°C) with single-degree control. That covers most needs, though the top temperature isn't the highest on the market.

The Venty adds a few extras. It heats up about three times faster, reaching temperature in around 20 seconds compared to about 60 for the Mighty+. It also adjusts its heating as you draw, so results stay consistent no matter how hard you pull. In the web app, you can fine-tune your Boost and Superboost settings.

The Mighty+ keeps it simple with on-device control, plus Booster and Superbooster at the click of a button.

Edge: Venty. Faster heat-up and draw-responsive heating put it ahead, and the price gap between the two isn't large.

Vapor Performance

Both devices use hybrid heating, which combines convection and conduction for fast, even extraction and dense, potent vapor. Where they split is airflow.

The Venty lets you adjust airflow up to 20 litres per minute, one of the highest you'll find in a portable. That means you can choose between a tight, restricted draw and a wide-open lung hit. The Mighty+ has a fixed airflow tuned for its design, which works well but can't be changed.

Both use Storz & Bickel's cooling unit to take the heat out of the vapor before you inhale. The Venty's cooling unit uses two screens for a little extra filtration and cooling.

Edge: Venty. The adjustable airflow gives it more range and control over how each hit feels.

Mighty+ Storz And Bickel

How to Use

Both work in a very similar way. Remove the cooling unit, fill the chamber with ground herb and replace the cooling unit. Power on, then use the + and – buttons to set your temperature. Each one vibrates when it's ready.

On the Venty, you'll also set the airflow wheel to the draw you like. On the Mighty+, double-click the power button for Booster or triple-click for Superbooster when you want more heat.

The Venty has more features, so it can take a session or two to dial in. Bluetooth and the Storz & Bickel web app make it easy to save your favourite settings. The Mighty+ has no app, but it's very straightforward on its own.

Edge: Venty. Both are easy to pick up, but the app adds an extra layer of convenience.

Build Quality and What's in the Box

Since both come from Storz & Bickel, they're built in similar ways. Both use PEEK, a tough, heat-resistant plastic, and both are made in Germany. The PEEK is durable, but we'd prefer less plastic near the vapor path on both.

Venty box: Venty, USB-C cable, cleaning brush, 2 O-rings, filling chamber tool, 5 screens and 2 cooling unit screens.

Mighty+ box: Mighty+, USB-C cable, 3 normal screens, 3 coarse screens, 3 base seal rings, a dosing capsule, cleaning brush and instructions.

The Mighty+ is the only one of the two that includes a dosing capsule, while the Venty includes a filling chamber tool and extra cooling unit screens.

Size and Everyday Use

Neither of these is a truly compact portable. Both are large for their category and don't fit comfortably in most pockets. Storz & Bickel clearly focused on vapor performance over size with both.

The shapes are different. The Mighty+ is shorter but much wider, while the Venty is taller and slimmer. The Mighty+ is slightly easier to tuck into a bag or jacket.

If portability is your top priority, the Crafty+ or Veazy are much better choices.

Edge: Mighty+. Not because it's small, just because it's a little easier to carry.

Battery and Charging Performance

Both run on two lithium-ion batteries and deliver long sessions per charge. The Venty's smaller heater uses its power a little more efficiently.

The Mighty+ has one big advantage for home use: pass-through charging. With a 15V/3A charger, you can keep using it while it's plugged in, so a low battery never has to end your session.

Both charge over USB-C and reach 80% in about 40 minutes with a compatible 15V/3A charger.

Edge: Mighty+. Pass-through charging makes it more convenient for longer sessions at home.

Daily Use and Cleaning

Both are easy to maintain day to day. Brush the chamber screen after each session, and give the cooling unit a deeper clean regularly.

On the Venty, use the included filling chamber tool to take the cooling unit apart about once a week, then soak the parts in warm water or isopropyl alcohol. On the Mighty+, take the cooling unit apart and soak it the same way.

Spare parts make cleaning even easier. Keep a Venty Cooling Unit (Pack of 3) or a spare Mighty+ Cooling Unit on hand so you can keep going while the other one soaks.

Edge: Venty. It's simpler to keep fully clean, for reasons covered below.

Smell and Stealth

Neither device is especially discreet. Both are larger than typical dry herb vaporizers and produce plenty of vapor, which is exactly what Storz & Bickel designs them for. Like any vaporizer, both produce a noticeable smell during use.

If you need something low-profile for public use, look at a smaller device instead.

Edge: Tie.

Final Verdict: Venty or Mighty Plus?

Storz & Bickel built these two with different goals in mind. Overall, the Venty comes out slightly ahead thanks to its adjustable airflow, faster heat-up and cleaner design.

That said, the results were close in almost every category. The Mighty+ is still a great choice if you want a proven, powerful vaporizer you can use while it charges.

  • Choose the Venty if you want the best vapor control, fast heat-up and app features.
  • Choose the Mighty+ if you want pass-through charging and simple, reliable operation.
  • Choose the Crafty+ or Veazy if portability matters most.
