Everything Else You Need to Know About the Puffco Hot Knife
How does it work?
Fully charge the Hot Knife before your first use. Gently scoop or slice a dab with the ceramic tip. Hold it over your chamber, then press and hold the button to heat the tip. The concentrate loosens and drops cleanly into the bowl in seconds.
Triple-click the button any time to check the battery. Green means full, orange means half and red means low. If the light glows red after heating, it’s time to charge. It charges through the included USB-C cable, with no special charger needed. When you’re done, let the tip cool and put the cap back on to store it safely.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Clean, mess-free loading every time
- Fast 25-minute USB-C charge
- Travel-friendly cap with lanyard loop
- Works with any Puffco device or traditional rig
Cons
- One more device to keep charged
- The tip gets very hot, so let it cool and cap it after use
Features That Stand Out
The reshaped, glazed ceramic tip is the biggest upgrade. It’s designed to release more concentrate into your chamber and leave less stuck on the tool.
Compared to the original Hot Knife, this version also adds a sturdier body, the triple-click battery indicator, an updated button and a cap that fits more securely. The lanyard loop makes it easy to carry, which is a big help when you’re loading a Puffco Pivot or Puffco Proxy Core Kit on the go.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Let the tip cool completely before cleaning it. Then wipe the white ceramic tip and the cap with a cotton swab dipped in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol, and let them air dry completely before using it again. Never rinse the Hot Knife or soak it in liquid or isopropyl alcohol.
Always let the tip cool and put the cap back on before storing it in a pocket or bag.
Where This Fits in Your Setup
The Hot Knife works with any concentrate device, but it pairs especially well with Puffco. It’s ideal for loading the bigger bowl on the New Puffco Peak Pro 3DXL, and it keeps things tidy with the Puffco New Peak and Puffco Proxy Pipe Kit.
It’s just as handy with traditional glass dab rigs, e-nails and other dab pens, especially with sticky concentrates that cling to regular metal tools.
Using your Peak Pro with your own glass? It’s a natural match for the Puffco Peak Pro Link too.
Warranty
The Puffco Hot Knife is covered by Puffco’s 2-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear and tear, accidental damage and misuse aren’t covered. See Puffco’s warranty policy for full details.
