Puffco released the New Plus in 2023 as a redesign of its original Plus. The biggest change is the chamber. Instead of a coil, your concentrate sits in a ceramic bowl that heats evenly, so you taste the wax and not the metal.

Everything runs off one button, and the loading tool lives inside the mouthpiece, so there’s nothing extra to carry. Unscrew the chamber and the same battery takes standard 510 cartridges, which makes it a handy Puffco 510 battery as well as a wax pen for anyone who uses both concentrates and carts.

Build Quality and Materials

The New Plus has a slim metal body with a silicone grip around the chamber, so it stays comfortable to hold during a session. The chamber is ceramic with no coil, and The Dart has a glazed ceramic tip. Both hold up well in normal use, but ceramic can chip if it’s dropped, so handle the mouthpiece gently.

How does it work?

1. Click the button 5 times to unlock the pen.
2. Push The Dart out of the mouthpiece, scoop a small amount of concentrate, and drop it into the chamber.
3. Click 4 times to cycle through the 3 heat settings.
4. Hold the button and inhale for a regular draw, or double-click to start Sesh Mode and let it heat on its own.
5. Click 5 times to lock it again before it goes in your pocket.

Temperature Settings

The New Plus uses 3 preset heat levels, and the light on the pen tells you which one you’re on.

• Blue (Low): Best for flavour and smooth, cooler hits
• Green (Medium): A good balance of flavour and vapour
• White (High): Bigger, thicker clouds

Click the button 4 times to move to the next setting. If you’re new to dabbing, start on Blue and work your way up.

Features That Stand Out

The Dart: Puffco’s loading tool is stored inside the mouthpiece. Push it out, load your wax with the ceramic tip, and slide it back in. It also acts as a splash guard while you’re hitting the pen.

Sesh Mode: Double-click and the New Plus heats for 12 seconds without you holding the button. It’s great for longer draws or passing the pen around.

510 thread battery: The battery uses standard 510 threading, so you can screw on a cartridge when you don’t feel like loading wax. Start on the low setting with carts, since many cartridges are made for lower power.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning the New Plus only takes a minute:

• Run one Sesh Mode cycle to warm the chamber, then unscrew the mouthpiece.
• Use a tightly wound cotton swab to wipe leftover residue out of the chamber and off The Dart.
• Clean the mouthpiece and threads with a swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
• Don’t soak the metal parts in alcohol.

A quick swab every few sessions keeps the flavour clean. Small loads also help, since overfilling the chamber leads to spills and more cleanup.

Flavour and Cloud Performance

With no coil touching your concentrate, the New Plus keeps flavour clean and close to the original terpenes. The Blue setting is where it tastes best. Turn it up to White and the clouds get noticeably thicker, though the small chamber means each load goes quickly at high heat.
