About the Smyle Labs Penjamin Cart Pen
The Penjamin is the battery that started Smyle Labs’ lineup of disguised cart batteries. The idea is simple: it’s a pen. It looks like a pen, it feels like a pen, and it writes like a pen. Nobody will think twice if they see it in your pocket, on your desk or in your bag.
The vape side is just as low-key. Your 510 cart screws into the top and sits under a rubber cover, with only the mouthpiece tip showing. The button is tucked under the pen clip, so even that looks like part of a normal pen.
It’s simple to use, too. Five clicks to turn it on, two for preheat and three to change the voltage. If you want a discreet cart battery that blends in anywhere, the Penjamin Cart Pen is a great pick.

Everything Else You Need to Know About the Smyle Labs Penjamin Cart Pen
Build Quality and Materials
The Penjamin is made with quality materials and has a premium feel for a pen. The rubber cover keeps your cart protected and hidden, and the clip hides the button so nothing gives it away.
How does it work?
To write: Twist the bottom of the pen counterclockwise.
To vape:
- Load your cart: Take off the rubber cover at the top, then screw in your 510 cartridge. Use the included adapter for 0.5g carts.
- Cover it: Slide the rubber cover back on until the mouthpiece tip pops out the top.
- Turn on/off: Click the button under the pen clip 5 times.
- Preheat: Click the button 2 times.
- Change voltage: Click the button 3 times to cycle through the settings.
- Charge: Plug in the included micro USB cable.
If a cart isn’t hitting, take it out and wipe the 510 connection with a cotton swab and a little isopropyl alcohol.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Works as a real pen
- Very discreet, the cart stays hidden
- Button hidden under the clip
- 3 voltage settings with preheat
- Charging cable and 0.5g adapter included
Cons
- Only fits 0.5g and 1g carts
- Charges with micro USB, not USB-C
- Only 3 voltage settings
Temperature Settings
The Penjamin has three voltage settings, changed by clicking the button 3 times.
- Low: Best for flavour and smooth hits. Start here with any new cart.
- Medium: A balance of flavour and vapour for most oil carts.
- High: More vapour and better for thicker oils, but can taste harsh on some carts.
Start on low and click up if you want more vapour. If your oil is thick or the cart’s been sitting in the cold, run the preheat first.
