The Pulsar APX eRig is an electric dab rig built to look and hit like a real glass bong. It stands just over 10.5 inches tall and is made largely of ultra-thick borosilicate glass. Inside the base, a smoky glass downstem leads into a circular showerhead percolator that spreads vapour through the water in every direction for smooth, cool hits.

What makes the APX eRig different is its pivoting atomizer manifold. Where a normal rig has a fixed joint, the APX has a manifold that swivels. You can lean back and tilt the rig while the atomizer stays upright, so your concentrate stays pooled evenly on the heated quartz instead of running to one side. Two quartz terp pearls spin inside the cup to stir your concentrate as it melts, and the included Terp Tong lets you place and remove them without taking anything apart.

Power comes from a 3,200mAh battery, the biggest Pulsar has put in a vaporizer. Choose from five temperatures with the control button, then use Sesh Mode for a hands-free heat cycle or Manual Mode to finish off any leftover concentrate. LED lights around the button and underneath the rig change colour with each setting and glow while you dab.

Build Quality and Materials

The APX eRig feels substantial. The glass is thick borosilicate, the base is wide and stable on a table, and the mouthpiece has a wide rim for a good seal. The quartz atomizer sits inside a glass collar with a tethered carb cap, so the cap won't wander off. The stainless steel airpath slides out of its silicone housing for cleaning, and Pulsar includes spare O-rings in the box.

How does it work?

1. Charge the APX eRig fully with the included USB-C cable.
2. Fill the glass base jar with water, insert the downstem and attach the mouthpiece.
3. Screw the quartz atomizer into the manifold and put on the glass collar.
4. Press the control button five times to turn it on.
5. Press three times to cycle through the five temperature settings.
6. Load your concentrate into the quartz cup and drop in the terp pearls with the Terp Tong.
7. Press twice to start Sesh Mode. The lights pulse while it heats, then go solid with a vibration when it's ready.
8. Cover the cup with the carb cap and inhale.
9. Use Manual Mode (press and hold) to finish off any leftover concentrate.

Temperature Settings

The APX eRig has five presets, colour-coded from blue and green for the lower settings to purple and red for the highest:

• 482°F (250°C): The best flavour. Ideal for live resin and terp-rich concentrates.
• 572°F (300°C): A balance of flavour and vapour.
• 662°F (350°C): Big clouds with good flavour.
• 752°F and 842°F (400°C and 450°C): Heavy, hot rips with much less flavour.

Most people get the best results from the lower two or three settings. Start at 482°F and step up only if you want bigger clouds.

Features That Stand Out

The pivoting manifold solves a common e-rig problem. On most rigs, tilting the device while you inhale makes your concentrate slide to one side of the cup. On the APX, the atomizer stays level no matter how you hold the rig. Add the spinning terp pearls and the showerhead percolator, and you get even vaporization and smooth, water-cooled hits that feel like a traditional dab rig.

Cleaning and Maintenance

1. After each session, let the rig cool and wipe out the quartz atomizer with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
2. Use the Terp Tong to remove the terp pearls, and soak them in alcohol as needed.
3. For a deep clean, take the rig apart and soak the glass parts in isopropyl alcohol, then rinse well.
4. Pull the stainless steel airpath out of its silicone housing, soak it in alcohol and clear any clogs with the included brush.
5. Swab the atomizer threads and connection.
6. Let everything dry completely before putting it back together.

Change the water often for the best flavour.

Flavor and Cloud Performance

The coil-less quartz cup and terp pearls give clean, even vaporization, and the lower settings bring out excellent flavour. The showerhead percolator cools the vapour well, so even big hits stay smooth. With its large battery and higher temperature options, the APX eRig can deliver heavy clouds when you want them.
