YoCan iShred Electric Grinder

About the Yocan iShred

The Yocan iShred is a rechargeable electric herb grinder that grinds your flower for you at the press of a button. Two zinc alloy blades spin inside the chamber and cut your herb into an even, consistent grind. That kind of grind helps a dry herb vaporizer heat evenly and get more out of every bowl. The clear cap lets you watch it work, so you can stop as soon as the grind looks right.

It has two modes. Auto Mode runs on its own after one press, and Manual Mode only runs while you hold the button, which gives you full control over how fine it gets. The blades reverse direction every few seconds to keep herb from sticking. Motor jam protection keeps tough or sticky buds from damaging the motor.

The 450mAh battery gives you up to 100 minutes of grinding per charge, which is enough for days or even weeks of normal use. When it's empty, it charges with a USB-C cable.

A quick note, since a lot of people search for it this way: the iShred is a grinder, not a vaporizer. It's made to prepare herb for your vaporizer, not to heat it.

Compatibility

The iShred works with dry herb only and pairs well with any dry herb vaporizer, from compact portables to desktop units. A consistent grind makes the biggest difference in small conduction ovens, like the ones in the Yocan Vane 2 and the Yocan Hit 2, where an uneven grind leads to patchy heating.

It isn't made for concentrates, so keep wax and other extracts out of the chamber.

How to Use the Yocan iShred

1. Charge the iShred fully with the included USB-C cable before your first use.
2. Remove the clear cap and break your herb into small pieces.
3. Place the herb in the chamber without packing it too tightly.
4. Put the cap back on securely.
5. Choose how you want to grind:
   • Auto Mode: Press the button once and let it run.
   • Manual Mode: Press and hold the button, then release when the grind looks right.
6. Watch through the clear cap and stop once you reach the consistency you want.
7. Remove the cap and tap out your ground herb, or use the tweezer to pick out any pieces that stick.

For most vaporizers, a medium-fine grind works best. If you grind too fine, the herb can get pulled through the screen. If it's too coarse, it won't heat evenly.

Cleaning and Care

Unplug the grinder and make sure it's off before cleaning. After each use, use the included brush to sweep leftover herb and resin from the blades and chamber walls. If resin builds up, carefully wipe the blades and chamber with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Let everything dry before you use it again. Never rinse the grinder under water or submerge it, since the battery and motor are built in.

Why Choose an Electric Grinder?

A manual grinder works fine, but it takes effort and the results depend on how much you twist. The iShred does the work for you and gives you the same grind every time. That's a real help for people with hand or wrist pain, anyone who grinds several times a day, or anyone who just wants a faster routine. Because the blades cut instead of crush, your herb stays fluffy instead of clumping into balls.

Our Take on the Yocan iShred

The iShred is a simple, well-designed electric grinder that does its job well. The blades cut evenly, the clear cap means you never have to guess, and auto reverse keeps sticky herb from jamming it up. The battery lasts a long time between charges, and USB-C means you can top it up with the same cable you use for most vaporizers. If you're tired of twisting a manual grinder, it's an easy upgrade.
