About the Stundenglass Gravity Bong
The Stundenglass Gravity Bong takes the old bucket-and-bottle gravity bong and turns it into a centrepiece you'd actually want on your coffee table. Two glass globes sit on either end of a rotating aluminum frame. Fill the bottom globe with water, load the bowl and flip the frame. As the water drains down, it pulls air through your bowl and fills the top globe with smoke. You can pull it straight from the mouthpiece, or rotate the frame back and let the water push the smoke out to you.
Stundenglass calls it a Gravity Infuser, and the name fits. It takes standard 14mm bowls and attachments for flower, shisha and even cold smoke for cocktails and food. Add the Stundenglass Modul, which attaches magnetically, and you can do electric dabs or light flower without a lighter.
We carry all three versions. The Original is the classic two-post design that put Stundenglass on the map. The V3 is a redesign with a single base, a lighter frame, a mouthpiece that rotates 360° and a core you can pull apart without tools. The Kompact is the smaller, travel-friendly version that comes in its own fitted case.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ORIGINAL, V3 AND KOMPACT
Stundenglass Original (Classic): Two-post frame with heavy anodized aluminum construction, weighing roughly 8 to 10 lbs. It has a stationary, upward-facing mouthpiece that adjusts to 45°, plus a silicone hose. Every unit carries a serial number for authentication. It's the most solid-feeling of the three, but cleaning means taking the unit apart to get at the seals and collars.
Stundenglass V3: Single-base frame that's about 20% lighter and spins more easily. The mouthpiece rotates a full 360°, so you can pass it around the table without moving the unit. The core pulls apart without tools, which makes cleaning much quicker than on the Original. A built-in NFC chip handles authentication and warranty registration. Glass globes from older models still fit.
Stundenglass Kompact: Just under a foot tall, with globes that hold about two-thirds of the full-size volume (roughly 2 cups). Smaller globes mean cooler, quicker pulls and less water to manage. It ships fully assembled in a custom travel case with a strap, handle and accessory pocket, and it uses a 3-ft silicone hose and a 45° adjustable mouthpiece.
Quick pick:
- Want the easiest cleaning and a rotating mouthpiece? Get the V3.
- Want the classic look and the heaviest build? Get the Original.
- Want something smaller you can take to a friend's place or the cottage? Get the Kompact.

Everything Else You Need to Know About the Stundenglass Gravity Bong
Build Quality and Materials
All three models use aircraft-grade anodized aluminum for the frame and thick borosilicate glass for the globes. The aluminum resists scratches and fingerprints, and the glass is dishware-grade, so it stands up to regular cleaning with isopropyl or soap and water. The Original is the heaviest at 8 to 10 lbs, which makes it feel planted on a table. The V3 cuts about 20% of that weight without feeling flimsy, and the Kompact is light enough to carry in its case.
How does it work?
- Remove the top globe and fill the lower globe with water through the hole in the body, up to the visible shoulder of the glass.
- Thread the top globe back on until it's just snug. Don't overtighten.
- Load the bowl with your material.
- Rotate the frame almost all the way and light the bowl.
- As the water drains into the lower globe, smoke gets pulled through the percolator into the top globe.
- Take your hit straight from the mouthpiece, or rotate the frame again to push the smoke out to you without having to inhale hard.
The opposing airflow design means the smoke and water move in opposite directions, so you get filtration and pressure working together.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Smooth, filtered hits with very little effort
- Contactless push option is easy on the lungs
- Works with flower, hookah and cold smoke, plus dabs with the Modul
- Solid aluminum and borosilicate build with a 10-year warranty
- No batteries or charging
- Three sizes and styles to choose from
Cons
- Full-size models are heavy and take up table space
- The Original takes longer to deep clean than the V3
- Rotation can stiffen if resin builds up, so regular cleaning matters
- Concentrates need the Modul attachment, sold separately
Features That Stand Out
- 360° rotating gravity system: The patented frame does the work of a traditional gravity bong without the mess of a bucket.
- Contactless delivery: Rotating the frame pushes the smoke out, which is nice for sharing and for anyone who doesn't like pulling hard.
- 360° mouthpiece on the V3: Swing the mouthpiece to whoever's next instead of turning the whole unit.
- NFC authentication on the V3: Tap your phone to confirm the unit is genuine and register your warranty.
- Magnetic hose clips and interchangeable mouthpieces: Keep the hose tidy and swap mouthpieces to suit your setup.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Use isopropyl alcohol or soap and water only. Skip abrasive cleaners and scrubbers, and be careful around the logos.
Quick clean (every few sessions)
- Remove the top globe and empty the water.
- Add ½ to 1 inch of isopropyl alcohol to the lower globe.
- Thread the top globe back on and rotate the frame several times.
- Drain the alcohol and rinse with warm water.
- Clean the valve by removing the magnetic bowl intake end cap and rubber plug.
Deep clean
- Remove the upstems.
- Remove the mouthpiece elbow with a hex key.
- Pull the body off the valve and clean all parts.
- Replace worn seals with a maintenance kit if needed.
- Reassemble with the outlet hole facing the mouthpiece side.
The V3 makes this part much easier, since the core pulls apart without tools.
Troubleshooting
- Rotation feels stiff: Clean it right away. Running it stiff can tear the seals.
- No smoke in the top globe: The upstems or valve are clogged, or the body was put back on backwards during cleaning.
- Mouthpiece spins freely: The valve pin is missing. Use the centre groove for tabletop use and the side groove for the wall mount.
- Leaking water: Reseat the collars.
- Globe stuck on: Stand the unit on the floor and stand over it for leverage, or soak the threads with isopropyl.
Flavor and Cloud Performance
The percolated water cools the smoke before it reaches you, so even big hits stay smooth. The full-size globes fill with a lot of smoke at once, which is great for sharing or for anyone who wants a heavy session. The Kompact's smaller globes give cooler, faster pulls that are easier to finish in one go. Flavour stays clean as long as you change the water often and keep the upstems clear.
Accessories And Parts That Fit
- Stundenglass Modul for Concentrates: Turns your Stundenglass into a dab rig that heats up in as little as 15 seconds.
- Stundenglass Modul for Dry Herb: Lights your flower electronically, so you don't need a lighter.
- Stundenglass Modul Dok: A handheld glass bubbler that lets you use the Modul on its own, away from the gravity bong.
- Stundenglass Modul + Dok Deluxe Travel Set: The Modul, the Dok and both tanks in one travel case.
- Stundenglass Wall Mount: Hang your unit on the wall and free up table space.
- Stundenglass LED Uplight: Lights the globes from below.

Stundenglass Original vs V3
Both are full-size units with the same gravity system and globe size, and the globes are interchangeable. The V3 is about 20% lighter, rotates more easily, has a 360° mouthpiece and pulls apart for cleaning without tools. It also uses an NFC chip instead of a serial number for authentication. The Original has the two-post look, a heavier build and a fixed 45° mouthpiece with a hose. If cleaning time matters to you, the V3 is the easier one to live with.
Stundenglass Kompact vs Full Size
The Kompact stands just under a foot tall and its globes hold about two-thirds as much. That makes it lighter, quicker to fill and easier to finish a hit. It also comes with a travel case, which the full-size models don't. Choose a full-size model if it's staying home and you want the biggest clouds. Choose the Kompact if you want to bring it with you or you're short on space.
Where This Fits in Your Setup
The Stundenglass works as a home base for almost any session. Use it on its own with flower, add the Modul for dabs or flower without a lighter, or put a hookah bowl on it for shisha. It's also a good fit for anyone who wants water filtration but finds a regular bong harsh, since the contactless push takes a lot of the effort out of each hit.
Warranty
Stundenglass covers the gravity bong with a 10-year warranty. On the V3, you can register your warranty by tapping the built-in NFC chip with your phone. Because we're an authorized dealer, your unit qualifies for full coverage.

FAQs
What is a Stundenglass?
A Stundenglass is a rotating gravity bong made with borosilicate glass globes and an anodized aluminum frame. Water moving between the two globes pulls smoke through the bowl and into the glass, then pushes it out to you.
How do you use a Stundenglass gravity bong?
Fill the lower globe with water up to the shoulder, thread the top globe on, load the bowl, rotate the frame and light it. When the water drains, the top globe fills with smoke. Pull from the mouthpiece, or rotate again to push the smoke out.
What's the difference between the Stundenglass V3 and the Original?
The V3 is about 20% lighter, has a single base, a 360° rotating mouthpiece, a tool-free core for easier cleaning and NFC authentication. The Original uses a two-post frame, weighs 8 to 10 lbs and has a fixed 45° mouthpiece with a hose.
Is the Stundenglass Kompact smaller?
Yes. The Kompact stands just under a foot tall and its globes hold about two-thirds as much as the full-size models. It comes fully assembled in a travel case.
Can you use a Stundenglass as a dab rig?
Yes. Attach the Stundenglass Modul for Concentrates, which connects magnetically. It heats up in as little as 15 seconds and turns the unit into a gravity dab rig.
Is the Stundenglass electric?
No. The gravity bong itself runs entirely on rotation and water, with no batteries or charging. The optional Modul attachments are the only powered parts.
How do I know my Stundenglass is real?
Original units have a serial number, and the V3 has a built-in NFC chip you can scan with your phone. Buying from an authorized dealer like Canadian Vaporizers is the safest way to avoid knock-offs.
Why is my Stundenglass hard to rotate?
Resin buildup is the usual cause. Clean it right away, because forcing a stiff rotation can tear the seals.
Where can I buy a Stundenglass in Canada?
Canadian Vaporizers is an authorized Stundenglass dealer and ships across Canada.
