About the Focus V Carta 3

The Focus V Carta 3 is the third generation of the Carta electric dab rig, released in 2026 as the follow-up to the Carta 2. It keeps what people liked about the Carta line, smooth water-filtered hits and a smart app, then adds a full OLED screen, plus and minus buttons, and a battery that lasts nearly three times as long as the Carta 2.

The biggest change is control. You can set your temp and session time right on the device, watch the chamber heat up live, and adjust the heat in the middle of a session without grabbing your phone.

Inside, the Intelli-Core 3 atomizer heats from the sidewalls and bottom at the same time, and the removable C3 Connect airpath makes reclaim a lot easier to deal with. With the Saber in the box, it’s ready to go the day it shows up.

Build Quality and Materials

The Carta 3 has a full silicone body. It grips well, resists buildup and wipes clean with a little isopropyl alcohol, and there’s no paint to chip after months of daily use.

The glass top is cross-compatible with the rest of the Carta family. Your existing Carta glass fits the Carta 3, and the Carta 3 glass top fits earlier Carta devices, so upgrading doesn’t mean starting your glass collection over.

The Intelli-Core 3 atomizer uses a half-turn connection, so it seats quickly and comes off easily for cleaning.

How does it work?

The Carta 3 is a conduction e-rig. The battery heats the Intelli-Core 3 atomizer, your concentrate vaporizes in the chamber, and the vapor travels through the C3 Connect airpath and up through the water in the glass top.

Here’s how to take your first dab:

1. Fill the glass: Add water to just above the Focus V logo on the glass top.
2. Power on: Press the V button once, then immediately press and hold it until the screen lights up.
3. Set your temperature: Press the minus button once, then use plus and minus to pick your temp. It saves automatically.
4. Set your session time: Press the plus button once, then use plus and minus to set the timer.
5. Load your concentrate: Drop a small load, about the size of a grain of rice, into the chamber before heating. Don’t overfill it.
6. Start heating: Double-press the V button. The screen shows the chamber temp as it heats, and once it hits your target the LED turns white, the device vibrates and the session timer starts.

Need more time? Double-press the V button during a session to add 10 seconds. A single press ends the session early. You can also hold the V button to pull up your saved presets and switch between them with plus and minus.

Temperature Settings

The Carta 3 lets you set an exact temperature and session time, then tweak the heat live once the session starts. Lower temps give you more flavor and more dabs per charge, while higher temps bring thicker clouds and use more battery.

Focus V tested three common setups to show how settings affect battery life:

• Session Saver: 450°F for 20 seconds, around 92 to 102 dabs per charge
• Daily Driver: 475°F for 40 seconds, around 66 to 76 dabs per charge
• Max Clouds: 500°F for 60 seconds, around 48 to 58 dabs per charge

Once you find a setting you like, save it as a preset on the device or in the app. The app also shows a live temperature graph so you can see exactly how the atomizer heats up and holds your temp while you draw.

Features That Stand Out

The on-device menu is one of the biggest upgrades. From the home screen, press the V button once, then press plus and minus together. From there you can connect to Wi-Fi, adjust vibration and volume, turn on low power mode, switch display themes and view device info, all without opening the app.

Personalization goes further than most e-rigs. The Carta 3 has nine built-in screen themes, and through the Focus V App you can upload your own photos or GIFs as screensavers, with a timeout of 15, 30 or 60 seconds.

A built-in speaker handles audio alerts, you can lock the device so it doesn’t turn on in your bag, and over-the-air firmware updates keep it current. The app also tracks dab streaks and has social features if you’re into that.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Focus V keeps the routine simple:

• After every session: Run 2 to 3 dry dab swabs through the atomizer chamber.
• Every 25 sessions: Remove the atomizer’s silicone parts and soak the atomizer in 70% isopropyl alcohol for about 5 minutes, then let it air dry completely.
• Every 50 sessions: Do a full deep clean.

For a deep clean, rinse the glass top with warm water, fill it with 91% isopropyl alcohol, cover the openings and shake, then rinse and dry. Pop out the C3 Connect and clean it with 70% alcohol and swabs. If the reclaim is really stuck, chill it in the fridge for 5 to 10 minutes first.

Wipe the base and gold contacts with a cloth lightly dampened with 70% alcohol, but never soak the base or let liquid into the electronics. Let everything cool before cleaning, and make sure every part is fully dry before you put it back together.

Flavor and Cloud Performance

The Intelli-Core 3 heats from the sidewalls and the bottom at the same time, so your concentrate takes heat from all around the bucket instead of just the floor. The curved, rounded bottom has no corners for oil to pool in, so it stays together and heats evenly with fewer hot spots and burnt hits.

The glass top cools the vapor through water before it reaches you, which keeps hits smooth even at higher temps. If flavor is your priority, start around 450°F. If you want thicker clouds, push it toward 500°F and give yourself a longer timer.

Accessories And Parts That Fit

The Carta 3 only works with the Intelli-Core 3 atomizer. Older Intelli-Core atomizers from the Carta 2, Carta Sport and Aeris won’t fit, so keep that in mind if you’re stocking up on spares.
